Can I get a Tattoo of one of Karen's images? TOP
Inquiries about tattoos have been sent in. Karen allows the use of her
images for personal tattoos; however she does not provide stencils for
their creation. This is usually done by the tattoo artist. You may ask
the tattoo artist to customize the image however you wish for your
tattoo, for instance changing the colors. (This is the "ONLY TIME IT IS All Right" to alter an image) Tattoo artists are not allowed to offer Karen's
images commercially. If you get one of Karen's images tattooed on you,
please remind the tattoo artist that the image is copyrighted and may
not again be offered beyond your use (they aren't to retain the stencil
they've created and offer it again). If you have one of Karen's works of art
tattooed on you, feel free to send a photo of it to us. Please note
that submitted tattoo photos do not post to the site immediately. So please be patient.

Karen's and so has many other artists have been registered in the US Copyright Office
(http://www.copyright.gov/). Copyright registration protects the artist
to a much greater extent including allowing the ability to civilly sue
an infringer not only to cease and desist but to also recover any
monetary compensation for damages. Many online resources are available
to artisans to aid them in understanding the tangle of copyright law.
